There are few models that are as large and as luxurious as the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS. This full-size SUV is big on everything: power, comfort, and advanced features. Plus, the new model has received a refresh, and Mercedes-Benz of Fort Washington highlights the most notable changes.

Exterior

The iconic Mercedes-Benz Star is an aesthetic leitmotif in the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS model, featuring in the standing hood ornament with optional lighting, the newly redesigned grille, and the LED headlamps and taillights. It's a distinctive flourish that speaks to the brand's storied past and bright future at once.

Interior

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS has always provided passengers with a warm and welcoming cabin, and it's now plusher than ever. There are a variety of leather patterns to choose from for the upholstery, and they can come with copper threading. New wood accents are also available. In addition, the driver will experience improved ergonomics, as the swipe-based steering wheel controls have been replaced with physical buttons, as well as tactile center stack controls.

Technology

Perhaps the most noticeable change to the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS is located front and center on the dashboard. The old displays have been swapped out for the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) Superscreen. Stretching from pillar to pillar, this glass panel contains three 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster, infotainment touchscreen, and front passenger screen. Plus, the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS®) for this new Mercedes-Benz uses an AI-enhanced system with a virtual assistant that responds to voice commands.

Power

We can't fail to mention that the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS has also gotten more powerful. The Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 engine is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six mild-hybrid that produces 375 horsepower, and its 413 lb-ft of torque is an increase from the previous model's 369 lb-ft of torque. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine in the Mercedes-Benz GLS 580 offers 530 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, significantly increased from the outgoing model's 510 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque.
