Born in Affalterbach
Mercedes-AMG® has been producing SUV models for over 25 years, dating back to the ML 55 AMG®. For the first time in the company's history, one of those SUVs will be produced entirely in-house — the Born in Affalterbach. It will be only the second model to use the company’s proprietary AMG®.EA electric high-performance platform, as part of the move toward eco-friendly performance vehicles, and will continue to represent the luxury and elegance of Mercedes-AMG® models. As Mercedes-AMG® representatives explained, it will continue to be “AMG® first, EV second.” This new model will be put to the test this winter, with drives first in northern Sweden and later in the Arctic Circle.

This model will take place among an already impressive lineup of Mercedes-AMG® SUVs as the sixth vehicle currently produced by performance specialists in Affalterbach. Other vehicles in the lineup include the Mercedes-AMG® GLA, Mercedes-AMG® GLS, and the all-electric Mercedes-AMG® EQE SUV. It will join the only other AMG®.EA model in a rigorous series of tests to showcase how well electric models stand up to the harshest conditions.
